PICAYUNE, MS — When the recent government shutdown left many local families unsure of where their next meal would come from, Manna Ministries and the Pearl River County community refused to stand by. Instead, neighbors linked arms, churches united, and volunteers showed up in force—proving once again that compassion doesn’t shut down when the world does.
With SNAP benefits frozen and household budgets stretched thin, Manna Ministries launched an emergency food distribution effort to ensure no one in the county went hungry. Volunteers from across the region packed and distributed bags of food, prayed with families, and offered smiles of hope during an uncertain time.
Love shows up—and our community showed up boldly. The unity displayed echoed the words of Jesus in John 21:17 (NKJV): “Jesus said to him…‘Feed My sheep.’”For Manna Ministries, this wasn’t just a directive—it was a calling lived out in real time.
Local churches, civic organizations, and everyday residents worked side-by-side, transforming 120 Street A into a hub of generosity and steady relief. As lines formed, volunteers ensured each person was met with dignity, care, and enough food to carry them through.
In a moment when the nation seemed still, Pearl River County moved with purpose. And through the hands and hearts of many, Manna Ministries reminded the community of a powerful truth: when we feed one another, hope always multiplies.
